Corgi VA12615 Ford Escort Mk2 RS Mexico
The Mexico was the entry-level Mk2 RS Escort but is amongst the rarest. All 2,290 produced in Saarlouis, West Germany, were RHD UK-market cars, and the Ford RS Owners Club (RSOC) believe that approximately 10% still exist. Most survivors have been modified but the car modelled is an exception as when current owner, Hertfordshire-based Loyd Gerken, had it comprehensively restored by Escort specialist Mark Carless in 2010 he elected to keep it largely original, save for improved brakes and, because genuine items are impossible to find, Bilstein dampers. Amazingly, because he was careful to change the oil regularly and always blow an airline through the spray bar, the car still has its original camshaft! The Mexico was first registered in April 1978 by Ford RS dealers Tricentrol in Dunstable. Loyd bought it with help from his parents Keith and Shirley in 1979 and used it as his main transport for many years covering over 120,000 miles. Being a late car it has very unusual badging with a Ford oval badge on the grille and bootlid in place of the more usual FORD lettering, and no 1.6 badges on the front wings. Loyd was a founder member of the RSOC and was proud to be made an honorary life member in 2010 in recognition of his club work. He's also a National Standard MSA Scrutineer and uses the Mexico for fine weather outings to motorsport events and shows.

UK Express delivery guaranteed £7.00 1 to 2 working days (not Saturday). Once you have placed an order it will be dispatched the same day or the next day depending on the time the order was placed. If you wish to cancel your order after it has been despatched, you will be charged for both delivery and collection cost.
If you are unavailable when our delivery partner tries to deliver your order, they will usually try to deliver again the next working day or they will drop a card in to offer you a collection from a local collection point. If you should refuse delivery of goods, or are not available to accept the delivery on both delivery attempts, you will be required to cover any extra costs incurred.
All quoted delivery prices are for most UK Mainland addresses. Northern Ireland (BT), Isle of Wight (PO30-37), Isle of Man (IM), Scottish Highlands and Orkney Isles (PA, ML, EH, KA, G, KY, PH, DD, AB, IV, KW), Outer Hebrides and the Shetland Isles (HS, ZE) will incur additional charges and may also experience delivery delays; morning, Saturday and "next working day" deliveries are optional and will also incur additional charges.

If you are unhappy with the goods received we will refund them if they are sent back at the customer's expense in new resaleable condition within 7 working days along with the original receipt.
We suggest for your own protection you use 1st class registered post.
Any refunds will be issued once we have received the goods, in there original condition.
We will not charge a restocking fee for returned items.
Any goods with manufacturing faults on arrival will be replaced or refunded.
